MLS-85 is designed for providing aircraft landing approach, take-off and go-around flight phases and interaction with other aircraft instrumentation systems in manual or automatic control modes.
MLS-85 performs the following functions:
- Determination of aircraft angular data (bearing and elevation angle) relatively to ground based MLS radio beacons;
- Determination of aircraft deviation from preset trajectory of landing and take-off;
- Reception and conversion of main and auxiliary data transmitted to ground based MLS equipment for its realization on board the aircraft;
- Transmission of above mentioned information to users of airborne complexes.
MLS-85 has branching built-in test equipment enabling to realize preflight check of receiver onboard the aircraft without using special instrumentation.
On Customer demand ABM-007 antenna (open) or ABM-010 antenna (flush-mounted) may be included into MLS-85 airborne navigation-landing equipment set.
MLS-85 meets IСАО, НЛГС-3Д, ARINC-429, ARINC -727-1 requirements.
