Navigator

Navigator Company was founded in 1992 by the specialists of All-Union Radio-Equipment Research Institute. At the time of company establishment our experts already had experience in navigation, landing and air traffic control systems development for USSR ministries and aviation departments, and also equipment development for “BURAN” spacecraft landing on 15 November 1988.

Considering modern aviation requirements and up-to-the-minute technologies Navigator experts took all the best experience of Soviet Aviation Engineering School and based on that created a new generation of navigation and landing equipment and flight control instruments in accordance with national and international standards.

Navigator equipment is a part of modern military aviation electronics: Mi-171A2, Mi-26T2, Ka-62, MS-21-300. Our equipment has been functioning at airborne systems for more than twenty years. The design solution allows installing the equipment at aircrafts with analog equipment as well as modern “glass cabin” aircrafts without additional modifications.

Navigator is the only Russian developer and manufacturer of airborne navigation and landing equipment providing operation with VOR radial system, distance measurement system DME, goniometric distance-measuring system RSBN, ILS, MLS, GNSS landing systems and ADS-B (1090 ES) surveillance system.

Strands of work

Our strands of work are design and development of the following equipment:

  • Flight security systems (ACAS, TAWS, TCAS)
  • ADS-B system
  • Airborne transponders
  • Navigation and landing system
  • Integrated navigation and landing systems
  • Airborne multifunctional systems

Our company is constantly working on modernization of manufactured equipment, including equipment repair and maintenance services.

Navigator becomes the second in “The best innovative project” category of “Aviation worker of the year” competition. Satellite-based landing system SSP-2010 was given high expert appraisal

Our achievements

  • In 90th Navigator equipment allowed to avoid legacy radio navigation systems («BAKLAN-5», «BAKLAN-20»), 70th and 80th navigation and landing equipment (КУРС-МП-2, КУРС-МП-70) replacement for foreign analogue equipment . We modernized our equipment to comply with international standards and we provide the equipment to aircrafts and helicopters of all departments.

  • Navigator developed the first Russian long-range early warning system (SRPBZ). Without SRPBZ Russian aircrafts wouldn’t be able to conduct flights along international airways. For the last 16 years SRPBZ has been installed at more than 500 aircrafts.

  • Navigator is the first Russian company that produced GNSS/LCCS airborne equipment providing instrumental landing using data from satellite radio navigation systems.

  • Navigator developed the first Russian multifunctional system (AMS-Indicator). AMS-Indicator operates using GNSS signals (GLONASS, GPS, Galileo; and satellite functional augmentation signals: SBAS (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS)). After AMS-Indicator development the monopoly of international airborne GPS equipment manufacturers who previously provided the equipment to Russian aircrafts came to end. For the last 10 years AMS-Indicator has been installed at more than 1000 aircrafts. Additionally AMS-Indicator is the main navigational instrument of Russian Ministry of Defense.

  • Navigator developed the first airborne ADS-B equipment based on 1090ES technology: small-sized air surveillance system (MSNVO-2010 functions as ADS-B In), airborne responder (SO-2010 functions as ADS-B Out), small-sized transmitting system «ISK» (functions as ADS-B Out).
